The consumer unit, sometimes referred to as the fuse box, is the control centre of your property’s electrical installation. Older consumer units that use rewirable fuses rather than modern residual current devices and miniature circuit breakers no longer meet current safety standards and should be upgraded.
A modern consumer unit provides far greater protection against electrical faults, reducing the risk of fire and electric shock.
